Meet Laika.

Laika isn’t just a dog. Laika is the most loved-ass dog in the whole of Los Angeles (maybe even LA Country).

Laika was adopted by Chloe in 2014, and from that moment on, they have been absolutely inseparable. Growing up at a production studio, Laika enjoyed #setlife so much she decided to pursue a career as a Set Dog. Because of this, Laika made a lot of friends.

When Laika was diagnosed with a not-good disease and given a not-good prognosis in 2023, Chloe decided to throw her a huge birthday party in the guise of a film festival- that way, Chloe could celebrate the talents of her friends, everyone would get to give Laika lots of love, and no one would be sad.

Then something incredible happened: Laika beat her not-good disease.

It’s not forever, but it’s for now. And regardless of what happens, LaikaFest will persist. Because if there’s one thing Laika loves, it’s genre movies and cool people. Two things. And Pupsicles. Three things.

Come say hi and wish Laika a happy birthday, she’d love to meet you.

Meet Chloe.

Chloe is the incidental founder of LaikaFest. She loves horror movies, parties, and dogs.

Chloe doesn’t only throw dog horror movie parties, though.

Since 2022, Chloe has produced more than ten award-winning short films, numerous music videos, and a feature, Free LSD, that headlined Slamdance.

How To, a horror short Chloe wrote and directed, premiered at ScreamFest in October 2023, and procured her a “Best First Time Director” and “Best Dark Comedy Short” at the Independent Shorts Award. It also went on to win the Audience Award at Midsummer Scream.

Chloe is on track to open Frankie’s Thrift Shop, an intimate screening room, in early 2025, with hopes of giving filmmakers a space to show their short films (cheaply) to family and friends.

Also Brandon.

Brandon is Chloe and Laika’s best friend.

There’s more, but Brandon still has to write it.
